About Us

We’re just another family from Squamish, British-Columbia. Don’t get me wrong. We’re lucky! We have two beautiful boys, we’re healthy, we love each other and that’s more than we could ask for.  We like to ride bikes and travel but we’re no athletes and have no interest in performance.

I say this because when we talk about our travels, the most common comment we get is: “Amazing!” And I guess that it’s true. Some of our experiences are amazing but not because we are. The point I want to make here is that our adventures are accessible to anyone who can ride a bike and is willing to step out of their comfort zone a little. Of course there is a little blood, sweat and tears, but that just comes with raising kids and riding bikes.

As Bruce Lee will remind you by citing the great Zen masters, if you concentrate on a finger pointing at the moon, you will miss all the heavenly glory. Bicycle travel has much to teach us. From the seat of our bikes we learn about ourselves and each other. We learn about the kindness of strangers and the beauty and vastness of our physical and cultural worlds. We learn to deal with fear and to appreciate moments of bliss. While this is a blog about cycling, you will find little in the way of number of kilometers, GPS tracks, or technical details about our equipment. Our bikes are merely fingers pointing at the world.

Whether you have kids or not, we hope that our stories will inspire you to get out (ideally on a bike) and go explore the world.

  2. Dear Robyn, you do not know me, but I am a long time (57 years) friend of your yoga companion Gail. She thought I would love your blog because I have traveled in the same parts of the world as you including most recently from Delhi, through Simla, Manali, Ladakh, and on to Kargil & Srinagar. Your adventure is awesome. The writing is sheer brilliance. The insights thought provoking, inspirational and have brought tears to my eyes in their sensitivity. I agree with the wonderful adage that “Travel is the Only Thing You Buy That Leaves You Richer”. Your travel blog leaves all of us richer. Safe travels. Namaste. Anne
